FAQ's

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Q. How old do you have to be to use an Infrared Sauna?
A. We recommend ages 16+ for use of our Infrared Saunas. Children below 16 can still use them safely (starting from ages 6 upwards) for a maximum of 15 minutes, however we would need written consent from a parent or guardian beforehand and someone over 18 to accompany them.

Q. What do I need to do before, during and after I have an Infrared Sauna?
A. The most important thing to do to stay safe and keep your body happy during your Infrared Sauna session is to drink water. Make sure you are well hydrated before, during and after each session. Bring your own water or if you need any more we sell water and freshly prepared cold pressed juices on site.

Q. If I have a medical condition does it mean I can not take an Infrared Sauna?
A.  We advise everyone with existing medical conditions to always check with your doctor before booking for a session with us.

Q. What is Chromotherapy/ Light Therapy?
A. Chromotherapy or colour light therapy adds another layer of healing to your experience. It has been shown to ease the winter blues, alleviate stress, combat depression and help with many other ailments. Built in to each of our Infrared Sauna pods you can customise your experience .

Q. I want to do a deeper detox, can you explain what you get with your '3 Day Infrared Sauna Juice Detox'?
A. We offer a 3 day juice detox program which consists of 2 x 30 minute Infrared Sauna sessions (day 1&3) 12 juices and 3 bags of Himalayan and fresh lavender bath salts. You let us know what day you want to start and we book you in for your first Infrared Sauna session. After your first session your drinks and bath salts will be available at reception to collect where we will then book you in for your final Infrared Sauna session.

Q. What is Himalayan Salt and why is it good to bathe in?
A. One of the best sources of natural minerals on the planet, Himalayan salt has long been know for its detoxifying and nourishing qualities. Through the process of dermal absorption, skin soaks up minerals from the water – often better than if the same minerals were consumed internally. This process helps draw out toxins, deep cleans the skin, and helps cleanse the body. Just a 20 minute soak in the evening after your Infrared Sauna session will add an extra layer of detoxification and cleansing and with the added fresh lavender to each bag you should feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Q. What can I expect to happen during my session?
A. Infrared Saunas are completely different to traditional saunas in that they use an invisible light to penetrate into your body directly and unlike traditional saunas which use steam to heat the room they run at a much lower temperature. The Infrared light heats your body not the surrounding air and starts to detox your body  from a cellular level. You may find you sweat a little less in an Infrared Sauna compared to a traditional sauna. Not all sweats are the same and neither are all saunas! The sweat you loose in a traditional sauna is made up of 97-98% water, the rest is salt. In an Infrared Sauna you lose only 80-85% water with the rest made up of toxins (with a smaller amount of salt).

Q. How often can I use an Infrared Sauna?
A.  If you are new to taking an Infrared Sauna we recommend 1-2 sessions a week to then build up to 3 times a week. We offer different packages to suit everyone's needs from single 30 minute sessions to monthly plans.

Q. How will I feel after my session?
A. You should expect to feel relaxed, rejuvenated and your skin will glow. Studies show that up to 80% of people who suffer joint pain start to feel the benefits after just one session.
Many people also leave feeling hungry. This is due to the amount of calories your body burns - up to 600 calories in just one session which is equivalent to a 2 mile run. Once you come out of your session be sure to hydrate and fuel up on healthy snacks.
